Description
Next-Generation Cellular Connectivity. Now Powered for Raspberry Pi 5
Bring ultra-high-speed 5G connectivity to your edge computing projects. The newly updated Sixfab 5G Development Kit has been refined to offer maximum flexibility, better performance, and seamless compatibility with the latest Raspberry Pi 5.
What’s New in the Kit?
- Raspberry Pi 5 Ready: Built to handle the enhanced power and data demands of the newest Pi (and still perfectly compatible with Pi 4).
- Nano SIM Slot: We’ve upgraded from Micro to Nano SIM, making it effortless to pop in a modern SIM card from your preferred carrier.
Build It Your Way
The 5G Development Kit is now offered as a single, highly-flexible base platform. We’ve shifted to a completely modular approach:
It comes without an M.2 module pre-installed. Instead, you have complete control:
- Bundle and Save: Select from our list of available, M.2 modules (like the Quectel RM520N-GL) on the product page and add it to your cart.
- Bring Your Own: Already have a compatible M.2 5G/4G module? Slot it right in.
Key Features & Benefits
All-in-One Development: Everything you need to get started (minus the Pi and Modem). Includes a project enclosure, high-performance SMA antennas, cooling fan for enclosure, Cellular module heatsinks, and a 5V Type-C power supply.
Raspberry Pi Compatibility: Fully compatible with Raspberry Pi 5 and Raspberry Pi 4
Standalone Capable: Don’t want to use a Pi? The modification-ready HAT can be used as a standalone 5G dongle via USB with with Linux-based embedded platforms, including NVIDIA Jetson Developer Kits, Raspberry Pi, NXP i.MX platforms, and standard Linux & Windows PCs.
Optimized Thermal Management: The included cooling fan for enclosure, dedicated heatsinks for cellular modules, and ventilated enclosure keep your hardware running at peak performance without thermal throttling.
